Program launch announcement!

At the start of February 2024, our partners in Haiti successfully launched a supplemental reading and writing program for students needing additional classroom time at Les Bons Samaritains school in Saint-Marc. This program is funded entirely by the contributions our donors made during our 2022 fundraiser. Thank you so much to our donors for your generosity, kindness, and continued support. See your impact on our new page highlighting the program by clicking the button below.

WELCOME

The 11 Days in Haiti Campaign began in 2020 to raise funds for the children and community of Les Bons Samaritains School in Saint-Marc, Haiti, founded and supported by the Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation. Thanks to the support of people like yourself, we raised over $4,000 in that inaugural campaign to provide sanitation materials critical for school and community health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the inaugural campaign, we have continued to keep our memories and message alive in the world through an annual campaign featuring a different goal each year, but always highlighting and supporting the work of the Mortel HHH Foundation. We believe that investing in peace and Haiti's future begins with investing in its youngest citizens. This is why we are continuing to support the Mortel HHH Foundation.

We invite you to explore this website for our stories, information about Haiti, or to donate to this year's cause.

OUR STORY

Hi, and thanks for stopping by! I'm Olivia (left) and Brooke (right). We've been best friends since high school, and right after graduation, we, along with six other teenage volunteers, traveled to Saint-Marc, Haiti, through the Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation to run a summer camp for primary school students at Ecole Les Bons Samaritains, the foundation's elementary school.

But our trip was a little out of the ordinary. On the day of our scheduled departure, the 2018-2021 Haitian protests began following a sharp increase in fuel prices that ignited riots that held us in place an extra four days. What we thought would be a week-long volunteer trip turned into 11 life changing days in a country and with a people we have come to love with all of our hearts.

Empowering the Haitian people with education is the most effective means for them to overcome the barriers that prevent them from achieving a self-sufficient and productive life.
